NEWS: Grove Street admit to self sabotage…

Another new album on the horizon is one from  Southampton Crossover Thrash quintet Grove Street, which sits complete awaiting the summer of 2026. The cycle for the unnamed and undated affair begins with new single “Self-Sabotage” a track which features Seth Gilmore (Fugitive, Skourge, Power Trip) and will no doubt take pride of place in the set when they tear down stages across Europe over the next few months.

The band comment: “The track is about making mistakes that you consequently blame/hate yourself for, but then realising that the only way to move forward is to forgive yourself and accept the past.

It’s written as an internal monologue in the verses, as if you’re talking to yourself in the mirror, the chorus is first person perspective and then Seth’s part is from the perspective of a friend/therapist telling you how it is. The collab with Seth came about through Sandy driving one of his bands on tour, Skourge, and just being good mates with him from there really. His vocals are sick and we purposely wrote that part in mind for him to lay something gnarly down on, so we were stoked when we made it happen! His vocal part was recorded super DIY style, in a van at Download earlier this summer when he was there performing with Power Trip, proper rock n roll!”

Guitarist Sandy adds: “We’ve worked on this record for a long time. It was a labour of love, from its inception to the DIY approach we took with the recording and mixing. This being our debut full length, we knew we wanted to level up on every front, which led us to be meticulous with every detail on every part of every song. We couldn’t justify rushing it for the sake of feeding the machine. We’re extremely proud of it. Every track taps into a different part of what Grove Street is.”
