NEWS: Abstracted announce “Hiraeth” with “Axis”!

After a four year wait for a follow up to their critically acclaimed album “Atma Conflux” we finally have the news we’ve all been waiting for. Brazilian Extreme Progressive Metal group Abstracted have completed work on “Hiraeth“, an album produced by Diego Castro (Kyrour, Skid Life) and adorned by cover artwork by Roberto Emerita. That’s set for a 20th February release via M-Theory Audio and includes new single “Axis” as well as the previously unveiled “Languish“, a cut which features Chaney Crabb from Entheos. For those not in the know the main reason behind the delay in the new record has been line up changes with the bands core trio of vocalist Rosano Pedro Matiussi, bassist Riverton Vilela Alves and keyboardist Carol Lynn now joined by guitarists Leonardo Brito and José Consani along with drummer Fernando Pollon.

Vocalist Rosano Pedro Matiussi comments: “Hey, everyone. We are super stoked to present you with our new single ‘Axis,’ and with it a new music video filmed on our return to the stages in Sao Paulo, Brazil. ‘Axis’ is a piece that is very dear to us, which combines all the moods that Abstracted tries to bring as a group. A long, heavy and bold piece of music that we hope you like as much as we do! Now, don’t forget that we also have another single out, ‘Languish’ featuring Chaney Crabb from Entheos, and both songs will be featured on our new album, ‘Hiraeth,’ so don’t forget to pre-order the full thing via M-Theory Audio. We hope you like as much as we do! ‘Hiraeth’ is ABSTRACTED’s third release. After ‘Atma Conflux’ we faced lots of lineup changes and that evidently reflected in our way of making music. ‘Hiraeth,’ in some ways, is more grounded, musical and nuanced. Atmosphere is the thing we pursued the most on this record. We are very proud of what we built, keeping the fast paced music, but reinventing what we are already known for. “
