NEWS: Anubis pray to the fanged angel!
Having built themselves a reputation in the Southern California Metal scene sharing the stage with the likes of Warbringer, Omnium Gatherum and Aether Realm with their blend of Power and Thrash Metal it seems that an evolution is underway for Los Angeles natives Anubis. They’ve added death growls to their sound with the addition of new co-vocalist Hanna Preston and ahead of their new album “Anthromorphicide“, a 24th April release via M-Theory Audio, they’ve shared “Fanged Angel“, a track with a distinctive Death Metal edge.
Hanna Preston comments: “This was the first song I wrote as a member of Anubis. Certainly won’t be the last, nor the heaviest… As far as this new direction goes, you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
Devin Reiche adds: “Before this song was written, we had come off a run of shows in Texas where Hanna and I agreed that while a few of our old songs sounded right, a lot of our set felt awkward by trying to force her vocals into songs that were very clearly not written with death metal parts in mind. For our first creative collaboration, I wanted to write something that would feel not only incomplete, but impossible without her. I wanted to step away from the spotlight and give her the opportunity to truly dominate the entire sonic soundscape.”
