NEWS: Old Moon follow the road to nowhere?

A second single from the 8th May via M-Theory Audio releasing debut album “Home To Nowhere” by Old Moon has surfaced in “A Rest To My Name”. Born in the damp, brooding atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest, the group were founded by multi instrumentalist and vocalist Michael Priest (Gone In April, Idolatrous, Boudica) to craft music that tells the tale of life’s deepest sorrows. Themes of depression, grief, loss and ultimately death form the emotional backbone of the bands lyrical narratives, offering listeners a cathartic escape through its evocative soundscapes painted in water colors of both Melodic Death Metal and Post-Black Metal origin. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.

Vocalist Michael Priest comments: “’A Rest To My Name’ is a song with two meanings. For years I’ve wanted to write something around the concept of the ‘three deaths’. After this song was written it managed to just fit. More so with the ‘final death,’ the last time someone’s name is spoken. ‘A Rest to My Name’ is derived more from the prospective of the person that is already gone and embarks through a journey of never wanting to be forgotten to acceptance; leading to a conclusion that says ‘forget my name and let me rest’.
