NEWS: Acid Reign still have the passion!
A new album. A new line up. A new single. A new tour.
Seven years after their universally praised 2019 album “The Age Of Entitlement“, Thrash Metal stalwarts Acid Reign announced their return with “Daze Of The Week” set for release on 15th May. The new album, produced with long time collaborator Jayce Lewis has been preceded by “Fantastic Passion” a single which finds them joined by former Haken guitarist Charlie Griffiths who plays duelling solos with new lead guitarist Matt Smith. We say new but in truth the graduate of Berkley music college has been part of the band for four years and is joined by former Shrapnel drummer Johnny Grimley and Wrath Of Man rhythm guitarist Darren Mcgillivray. Those three new recruits have not only helped create the album which is available for pre-order via Plastic Head Records here will also be on stage all summer long.
Vocalist Howard H Smith: “In all my 41 years in this band, yes 41! I have never been more excited by the prospect of anything than releasing Daze Of The Week on the unsuspecting thrash metal public. It’s been 2 years in the making and at times I thought it might never even see the light of day! Every note of every performance in every song has been lovingly captured by our sixth member producer Jayce Lewis and we couldn’t be happier with the results. This one is for every single thrasher around the world who thought that albums like this couldn’t be made anymore. They can, we have, you’re welcome.”
