The band comment: “In Vain is a bitter and provocative reflection on contemporary spirituality and the moral condition of humanity. The lyrical “I” adopts the perspective of God – a being deeply disappointed with his followers.

Instead of genuine repentance and humility, he sees falsehood, hypocrisy, and moral convenience. Prayer ceases to be a spiritual act—it becomes a mechanical ritual, a quick “purification” that allows for the repetition of the same mistakes without consequence.

In the world depicted in the song, concepts such as regret, penance, and atonement lose their meaning. Religiosity is reduced to a superficial gesture, and the relationship with God to a purely utilitarian one.
