NEWS: Scald pay their respects!

Featuring a trio of songs which were written after the recording sessions of their legendary album “Will Of The Gods Is Great Power” concluded in late 1997, Russian Epic Doom Metal act Scald are offering up a new EP in “Relics” via Cruz Del Sur Music on 4th September. The reason that those songs were not committed to tape was the the tragic death of vocalist Agyl and now almost 30 years on, the band are joined by Vendel vocalist Hrafn. Together they have created two fresh tracks to add to the record, said to be inspired by Mari Boine, Fates Warning, Dream Theater and Sanctuary. The first single is “Master of Tundra” with pre-orders available over at bandcamp.

The band comment: “So here you go – this EP is for all of you who waited for it all these years! Your support is priceless and the release could not have happened with you! The song “Falcon” was written by Agyl for his pre-Scald band called Ross, in 1991-1992. To honor the memory of this great vocalist, Scald decided to record a cover version of this song, and on Relics, in addition to the English version, they recorded it in Russian — the language Agyl performed it in. Thanks to everyone who helps and supports us in these difficult times. Scald are beyond politics! Always were, always will be.”
