NEWS: Ashen Skies explore the subject of “Refoulement”!
Celebrating the release of their second record together Ashen Skies have unveiled a music video for “Refoulement” cut from it. A studio project split between the United Kingdom and Australia, it unites bassist Joe Hanham and guitarist James Short, who have been writing together for over 30 years with former Twelve Foot Ninja vocalist and keyboardist Nik “KiN” Barker. That record is called “Broken Harvest” and if you like what you hear, you can find it over at bandcamp.
The band comment: “Written, recorded, mixed, mastered, and independently released, Refoulement explores themes of displacement, identity, and the human cost of forced migration. Inspired by the principle of “refoulement” in international law, the song reflects on the experiences of those forced from their homes and the search for safety and belonging.”
