NEWS: Zarraza return to their roots!
In celebration of the birthday of the legend that is Max Cavalera, Kazakh Extreme Metal force Zarraza have shared a music video for their previously released cover of Sepultura classic “Attitude“. As it happens, the song has also reached the three decade milestone having appeared on the bands 1996 record “Roots“. We’ll leave them to tell the rest of the story…
The band comment: “What happens when Kazakh tradition meets a metal classic? Experience our Kazakh interpretation of Sepultura’s groundbreaking classic “Attitude.” We brought together crushing riffs, tribal energy, and the haunting sound of the traditional Kazakh kobyz to a song that remains as powerful today as when it was first released.
The footage was filmed during the song’s live premiere in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on June 27 just one day before Megadeth performed in our city. We honestly expected most fans to save their energy for Megadeth, but instead the venue was packed. People sang along, moshed throughout the set and gave us one of the most memorable nights we’ve had as a band.
For this performance, our kobyz player Leyla Tazhibayeva appeared on stage wearing a traditional horned shamanic headdress, created with the help of Yuliya Belyanina, the artist behind the single artwork. The visual instantly became one of the highlights of the show and reinforced the ritual atmosphere of the performance.
A few days later, during another show in Astana, we were surprised to see a fan waving a Brazilian flag while we performed Attitude. It was a small but meaningful reminder that Sepultura’s music still connects people and cultures thousands of miles apart.”
