NEWS: Marea unveil “The Beauty of Broken Things”!

Italian atmospheric Black Metal project Marea have released “The Beauty of Broken Things“, a second single taken from the forthcoming album “A Caress of Autumn for All the Lost“. The track offers another glimpse into world of mastermind Matteo Balzarini, where melancholic melodies, atmospheric textures and black metal intensity are shaped into a carefully balanced compositions. The record itself is pencilled in for 9th October via Hypnotic Dirge Records and Masked Dead Records.

Matteo Balzarini comments: “This second single of our upcoming new release is by far the most complex and layered song in our discography.

While on our debut album it was the final self-titled track that summarized the whole record, here we did the exact opposite: excluding the acoustic intro, this opening track unveils all the sonic shades that unfold throughout the album.

It is undoubtedly the most representative song of the record, capturing the essence of Marea’s new incarnation. It features some lyrics in Italian, blast beats and tremolo-picked riffs (that lean closer to traditional black metal compared to the mid-tempos of our past releases), all seamlessly blended with the atmospheric textures and melancholic melodies that define our sound.

I think the true uniqueness of this track lies in its three-minute closing guitar solo, a rather unconventional choice for the genre.

Conceptually, it channels the core themes of the whole album: a journey into introspection and regret, a dreamlike scenery painted with the colors of October sunsets.”
