Rabidfest 2026: Breaking Down The Bands #20: Necronomicunt!

There are just a fistful of days before Halloween weekend and Rabidfest are upon us so while you sip your pumpkin spiced latte and pretend to do something useful, let us take the opportunity to remind you of what is happening. Rabidfest will take place on Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November at The Bullingdon in the heart of Oxford where no less than twenty bands will be attempting to entice you into a brain haemorrhage, mosh pit activities or raising a poison chalice as they play their finest material. Not only will the bar and merch stands be well stocked but you’ll also get a wrist band so if you want to grab a bite from neighbouring food places or have a cheeky smoke between bands then you can. If that wasn’t enough to get excited about, it’s all in a good cause as the annual event raises money for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation! It’s a party and you’re invited! Grab a friend, lover, family member or stranger as well as a couple of tickets and lets have some fun! See you in the pit!

What can we tell you about Necronomicunt? Well… their name references the “Necronomicon” a book of forbidden lore created by the legendary horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. That allegedly details the history of Elder Gods as well as containing spells for summoning entities and formulas for things like consciousness transfer between beings… which tells you that  bassist Yeti, drummer Omzferatu, guitarist Cutrefied Punt and vocalist Cuntess Dracula (Bathom, SpitRoast Sluts not Dead) are both well read and fans of occult ritual. Emerging from the fires of Bristol under the cover of nightfall the quartet combine the forces of Doom Metal with the speed and aggression of D-Beat Punk Rock with their debut EP “Cuntess” a river of black tar filth. The stench of decay hangs heavy in the air of the venues which they play, each satanic anthem they share having the potential to summon a demon from another realm of existence to devour the hordes. Is there a better way to die at Halloween?

We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Chaos Under No Ties, Moshville Radio, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
