The track represents what the four piece are all about, blending Doom, Gothic and Melodic Metal while finding a balance in reflective and cinematic moods. Frontman Mark Kelson explains: “The lyrics of ‘Casting Down Shadows’ evoke a journey through time, turmoil, and self-discovery, framed by imagery of storms, moons, and barren lands. They portray a struggle with loss, broken ties, and hidden desires, yet also a determination to face the tempest and carve a path forward despite fear. The recurring motif of ‘casting down shadows’ suggests confronting darkness while seeking truth and illumination, with the promise of renewal and return echoing throughout. Ultimately, the song captures the tension between despair and resilience, presenting an endless cycle of falling into shadow yet rising again to continue the search for meaning and fire.”
