NEWS: End Of Abyss fight the shadows!

From humble beginnings as the solo project of multi instrumentalist Petrus Syvänperä in the early 2000’s to uniting musicians known for their work in Portrait of Beyond, Rust and Baulta, Finnish Progressive Metal act End Of Abyss have moved mountains to create a debut album which will be released via Inverse Records in October. Ahead of the grand unveiling the band have shared “Astral Dreams“, a near seven minute track tells a story set in a historical fantasy world, where summer slowly turns to autumn. Its lyrics introduce the album’s overarching concept, presenting the dream realm fighting “Platoon of Shadows” and exploring the connection between dream and reality — and how that connection becomes a weapon in the fight for a better world.

Vocalist Mikko Herranen: “Astral Dreams is unusual metal track because it carries so much dynamic range. Those emotional shifts make the music interesting. It’s my favorite song on the album for that reason — the entire emotional spectrum is in use”

Multi instrumentalist Petrus Syvänperä: “We wanted the song to feel cinematic and epic, shifting from soft to heavy, from the eye of the storm to the beauty of a symphonic orchestra. The chorus intentionally contrasts a beautiful atmosphere with more ominous lyrical themes”
