NEWS: Nameless return with “Obliterate”!

Blurring the lines between the raw aggression of Nu-Metal and Hardcore with the atmospheric weight of Shoegaze, Birmingham natives Nameless been working on an album called “Floor Noise” with early 2027 in mind. For a first glimpse at that the band have shared “Obliterate“, a song which actually goes back to recording sessions that took place after they finished their 2022 self titled EP. Exploring emotional manipulation, destructive relationships and the gradual erosion of identity it began as a synth idea and was left gathering dust until it was rediscovered and completed, long after the bands 2023 performance at Bloodstock Open Air Festival.

Vocalist Jordan Ebanks: “‘Obliterate’ was, in many ways, one of the easiest songs for me to write because, at the time, I was genuinely living in the headspace I was trying to convey through the lyrics. Everything was still incredibly fresh, and putting those thoughts into words and seeing them in black and white was an incredibly cathartic experience.”

“The narrative is about feeling as though these people had gradually infiltrated my mind, influenced my decisions and taken away my freedom of choice. The relationships are portrayed almost like an addiction or a form of possession, knowing that something is hurting you, but not fully understanding how to break away from it, either physically or mentally.”

“Ultimately, ‘Obliterate’ is about the destruction of identity. It explores the point at which you can no longer recognise yourself and begin to feel like nothing more than a shell of the person you once were.”
