NEWS: InVisions ready to party with “Annihilist”!
Those who have followed InVisions on social media will know they have been squirrelling away the hours on new material and have an album completed and ready to go ahead of their December shows with Ghost Iris. So getting in nice and early the Deathcore collective have thrown down the guantlet with new cut “Annihilist” the first from their upcoming third album, ‘Deadlock‘, due for release on 11th February 2022. Conceived and self-recorded by the band in lockdown and mixed once again by producer Joe Graves (Asking Alexandria, Deaf Havana, Glamour Of The Kill), across its tracks, the album takes looks at loss, frustration, self-doubt and the other things that come up when distraction is at a minimum and life’s question marks begin to loom. “It’s very much things that we’ve been through as individuals, but also things that a lot of people have been through,” says vocalist Ben Ville. “It’s something a lot of people can relate to, and it’s a lot more personal.”
The band comments on the track: “Annihilist was born from the self-doubt and uncertainty we experienced over the past year and half writing the record. When you lose a part of yourself it’s very easy to get stuck in a nihilistic spiral, second guessing your every move and trying to figure out who you are without that part of your identity. Annihilist captured the moment in time where we didn’t know if things would ever get back on track. Whilst it’s a dark and introspective topic the chorus is all about just letting go, leaning into that sinking feeling and just trying to enjoy the show.”
