NEWS: Sophie’s Threat face the Chimera head on!
After being plagued by numerous line up changes in their first couple of years, São Paulo Brazil Melodic Death Thrash outfit Sophie’s Threat finally achieved stability and gave us debut album “Enemy Within” after a collection of waterfall released singles. That was back in November and now the band return with a music video directed by Michel Villares for “Chimera Threat” cut from it. In case you’re wondering the band’s name is a reference to the robot Sophia, which has the capacity to reproduce 62 facial expressions and was projected to learn how to work among humans, while adapting itself to human behaviours. It was the first humanoid robot to acquire a citizenship, in Saudi Arabia.
The band comment: “An experiment. A mutation. A threat. “Chimera Threat” is more than just a song — it’s a raw and powerful critique of the cruelty inflicted on animals in laboratory experiments. The lyrics draw a dark analogy: a creature born from human obsession rises against its own creator. Through crushing riffs, fierce vocals, and a haunting visual narrative, Sophie’s Threat takes you into a dystopian world where science without conscience turns into destruction. Watch, reflect… and face the Chimera Threat.”
