NEWS: Verilehto go for a walk in the haunted woods?

Oulu, Finland based Melodic Black Metal trio Verilehto have their sights set on a 28th November via Inverse Records grand unveiling for their second album “Aarnihauta“. That translates as “hidden grave in the forest” and is the first with new bassist and backing vocalist Markus Räppiö on board. He joins the project masterminds in vocalist Janne Partanen (Hautajaisyö, Alfa Pentatonik, Marraskuun Lapset, Paavalin Harhat) and multi instrumentalist Janne Tuikkala (Muria & Dawn of Everwinter) as they continue to offer 90’s style Finnish Black Metal with folklore inspired lyrics. A music video for the title track is now out in internet land with pre-orders available over at bandcamp.

Markus Räipiö comments: “After joining Verilehto, the first song I took on was Aarnihauta. I immediately knew what kind of playing I wanted for that song and built the bass sound for the album somewhat in the spirit of Testament’s Practice what You Preach album. Aarnihauta song like the whole album, features some playing from me that deviates a bit from the usual black metal style, but it remains to be seen how listeners will receive it. The overall sound is definitely our “style,” meaning rough but beautiful.”
