Playthrough: “Visions” from Slyther!

Italian Thrash Metal act Slyther have returned to their album “Chronicles of Despair” for a guitar playthrough video for “Visions“. In a world marked by war, corruption, media manipulation, and existential crisis, the album unfolds as a journey that moves from despair to inner awakening, tackling pressing themes with raw, direct, and emotionally charged language. If you like what you hear, you can find the album over at bandcamp.

The band comment: “The fifth track of the concept album Chronicles of Despair, Visions is an intense and haunting journey into the dark realm of sleep paralysis, inspired by real experiences lived by the vocalist. The song confronts, with raw honesty, that suspended moment between sleep and wakefulness where the body is paralyzed and the mind becomes trapped in vivid nightmares, whispered voices, shadowy presences, and deep-rooted fears. Within the album’s narrative, Visions represents the phase in which external chaos and anger seep inward, shaping a psychological terror that offers no rest—even in sleep. The “visions” described in the lyrics are a distorted reflection of a world plagued by war, manipulation, and insecurity—core themes throughout the record. The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Alex Visani, which visually interprets the song’s themes through a dark, dreamlike aesthetic, enhancing its unsettling and introspective atmosphere.”
