Track Review: “Vir4l” from Aristic ft Evvi!
For those not in the know, Aristic is a solo project of Gothenburg, Sweden based Multi instrumentalist Niklas Runstad. Starting in 2019, he created tracks with guest vocalists from other local bands and the end product of that was the brilliant “Dimensions” debut album. Back in the studio with producer Mathias Rexiux and mixing and mastering ally Max Maly once again, the next chapter of Aristic has begun.
New track “Vir4l” sees Runstad joined by NO:IR frontman Sam “Evvi” Davis, a man known for his rap flow and Nu-Metal inspirations from a band hailing from Bristol in the United Kingdom. The result? Something familiar yet fresh, blending a rap opening verse with some monstrous unclean moments and a sung Post-Hardcore chorus. The riffs are upbeat and energetic with flashes of DJent and if you’re a fan of bands like Hacktivist or Borders then this cut is going to be something you can sink your teeth into. Left field of “Dimensions” because of the rap flow and Alternative Metal moments but bringing the house down with a thunderous DJent infused crescendo [8/10]
