Vs. Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins? FIGHT! Jane.

The cult following for the fourth album “Jane Doe” from American Metalcore outfit Converge has remained intact for the past 20 years as the critical acclaim for the album with some going as far as to call it the greatest of the Metalcore era. Having a bigger budget allowing for the entire album to be recorded on six reels of two inch tape at three studios and mixed in two, the band have often been praised for their poetic lyrics, dynamics, ferocity and production despite the album’s lyrical themes being born out of a dissolving relationship and its emotional fallout.

In the Red Corner we have Pupil Slicer, a band who with their March released album “Mirrors” delivered a snarling blend of Mathcore, Grindcore and Death Metal that immediately got everyone’s attention. They covered the classic as part of a set for a Pulse Of The Maggots online streaming event for KnotFest and will be heading out across Europe with Rolo Tomassi in February. In the Blue Corner we have ManiaCult leaders and Belgian Death Metal legends Aborted who released their version in 2014 on the box set edition of “The Necrotic Manifesto” alongside covers of “Arise” by Sepultura and “Funeral Inception” by Suffocation. Who wins? You decide!
