Rabidfest 2023: Breaking Down The Bands #4: From Her Ashes!

Thus far Rabidfest have given us no less than nine reasons to snap up a ticket for their fifth anniversary which will take place at The Bullingdon in Oxford over the weekend of the 4th and 5th November 2023 and that’s just the start. The tip of the iceberg. The frostbite bitten toe. The… Ah you get the point. There is so much more to be announced that – mark our words – you want to get your greasy paws on a ticket before they sell out. Here are those reasons…

Blaze Bayley
Absolva
Ward XVI
Mortishead
Tribe Of Ghosts
Gutlocker
Imperium
From Her Ashes
Draconian Reign

We all know the real reason your here. You want to know – in a short and yet oh so sweet fashion – who From Her Ashes are, what they’re about and where they’ve been? Well alrighty then. You’re in the right place. The Derby based quartet have been around the block and them some since forming the band in 2011, blurring the lines between melody and brutality with Technical Metal and DJent leanings along the way. Their output may have been sparse over that time with just a pair of EPs in 2013’s “In The Absence Of Light“, recorded and produced by Ben Gaines (Heart In Hand, Violet) at Heroic Audio and 2016’s “Through The Darkest Of Days” recorded, mixed and mastered by Myroslav Borys (Confessions Of A Traitor, Last Hounds) at Jigsaw Audio but what they don’t have in quantity they make up for in quality. Since that prize pair they have of course given us a pair of new cuts including last years “Nemesis” and are promising that as the first from a debut album currently in the works. So could The Bullingdon be the venue for an album release show…? Having trodden the boards with everyone from Sworn Amongst to The Five Hundred, Distant and Beyond Extinction to name but a few in over a decade of destruction, they know how it’s done.

We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Metalplanetmusic, Moshville Times, GraphicsFix, Unearthed Music and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
