Rabidfest 2024: Breaking Down The Bands #13: Theorist!

Continuing our countdown to Oxfords finest Metal Weekender, it’s time to talk about Theorist. Well… almost. First we need to remind you (like you don’t already know) that Rabidfest will be taking place at The Bullingdon on 2nd and 3rd November with 10 bands taking the Devolution Magazine sponsored stage each day in an attempt to get the audience to wreck the place. You know the score. Rumbling bass, thunderous percussion and your favourite earworm riffs to get you in the mood for mosh pits, stage dives and high fives. Blood and sweat are optional but the bar will be serving beverages of choice which aren’t. Here’s the line up in full…

Evile (Saturday Headliner)
Viscera (Sunday Headliner)

…and if you fancy the aforementioned pre-show, you can witness Seething Akira, Crostpaths and Eliminate The Middle Class at “The Night Before Rabidfest” warm up at The Jericho Tavern in Oxford on Friday 1st November!

So just who are Theorist and why should you get a ticket to witness them? Established in 2017 the band are a Progressive Metal outfit from the South Coast of the United Kingdom who in January 2023 dropped a peach of an EP in “Perception“. From that they scored a their biggest track to date in the incredible “Paralysed“, a single which has surpassed 22k of Spotify and YouTube streams combined to put them on the map in style. We’re not saying that having TheCityIsOurs frontman Oli Duncanson direct and edit the music video for the track had anything to do with its success but having someone with skills in your corner is always useful. Since then recent single “Euphoric Pulse” landed while a run to the final of Oxford’s Metal 2 The Masses competition for the opportunity to play the New Blood stage at Bloodstock was only halted by by winners Stone Soup in the final. Elsewhere they’ve shared stages with Kodama, Tribe Of Ghosts and Confessions Of A Traitor so they know how to put on a show and survive to tell the tale. Do your ear drums a favour and check them out, you won’t regret it!

We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Metalplanetmusic, Moshville Times, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification, DC Sound Attack and main stage sponsor. Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
