NEWS: Bulletbelt return with arson intent!
Said to introduce the band’s first new musical direction in their 14-year career; emphasising choruses and hooks with Traditional and Power Metal influences, “Burn It Up“, the fifth album from New Zealand natives Bulletbelt will arrive via Impaler Records on 22nd September. Recorded in April 2022 at Massey Studio in Wellington with producer James Goldsmith (Planet Of The Dead, Eight Eyed Orchid, End Boss) who also mixed and mastered by Will Borza (Corrosion Of Conformity, Ignite, Spirit Adrift), the first single is “Arminius“. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.
The music vide was produced, directed, filmed and edited by Amber Beaton who comments: “The music video for Arminius is a call back to the 80s, inspired by Dio videos and metal’s playful and preposterous obsession with medieval-type aesthetics that I remember very well from my own childhood. We were supposed to shoot the Arminius scenes outside but due to the famous Wellington weather, we ended up shooting them all against greenscreen, which was a happy accident as it’s given the video a very unique and dreamy 80’s look to it. At the same time giving a nod to the nostalgia of being a teenager in the late 80s/90s (built by the incredible James Bennett and his amazing crew at BFD Studios and inspired by the bedrooms of my older brothers), Arminius is set in the smokey room of a young stoner, sleepily listening to the record he cradles. When he wakes in a surreal dream world like Arminius himself, he has to make the decision to run… or face a giant Roman soldier on his own.”
