NEWS: Omnivortex return with “Of Aeons Past”!
You know how when you’re watching the clock, 3 minutes can seem like 3 hours? Well after what seems like eternity but in reality is 70 days, Helsinki Finland Progressive Death Metal protagonists Omnivortex have given us a second single from their 29th September releasing record “Circulate“. Coinciding with the begining of the pre-order campaign, it’s titled “Of Aeons Past” and accompanied by an obligatory music video while at the same time confirming that the follow up to their seminal album “Diagrams of Consciousness” is shaping up to be huge. There is continuity as production, recording and mixing were handled by the mastermind that album in Teemu Aalto (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum) while mastering was done by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Mayhem). Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.
Vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and lyricist Severi Saarioja comments: “As on our debut album, there are some references to HP Lovecraft, and his cosmic horror stories and Cthulhu-mythos. As for “Of Aeons Past” there are no direct references, but the stories of his has been a big inspiration lyric-wise. You can sense some of the horrors in the music video, but done kinda in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Musically, the song is all about fast paced spider riffs, slap bass, endless blasting, and terrifying monster voices. As it should be.”
