NEWS: Fellahin Fall seek an urban burial…
Featuring in their ranks members of Tengger Cavalry and Fin’amor, Brooklyn Gothic Industrial Metal act Fellahin Fall continue to tell tales of an atomized man’s yearned escape from the Metropolis with “Bury Me”. A second single from a forthcoming EP “Urbana“, mixed and mastered by Kevin Antreassian (The Dillinger Escape Plan) from which the band promise a deeper dive into the 21st century, showcasing an innovative sound – which they’ve dubbed as ‘Urban Doom‘ – a gloomy fusion of Doom Metal with a modern and urban sonic aesthetic. If you’re intrigued as to what that sounds like, their 2020 debut album “Tar a-Kan” is floating in cyberspace now ahead of a 17th November release for this sophomore record…
The band comment: “‘Bury Me” is our first truly ‘Urban Doom’ song. It thematically delves into our hubris and explores the overarching pride and overconfidence that often blinds us, and leads us down paths of self-destruction and regret. Through the song, the narrator engages in dialogue with a figure, believing he’s confronting death. The narrator is cocky and unrepentant, but ultimately and bitterly grasps that he’s actually talking with himself.”
“‘Urbana’ is an EP that pivots Fellahin Fall towards a more intimate and personal direction. At moments, it’s whimsically tongue-in-cheek, and at points more crushing and raw. Drawing heavy inspiration from the legacy of gothic bands hailing from Brooklyn, this EP seeks to anchor listeners to a distinct place and moment in time. Every track is crafted to evoke emotions, bridging the gap between the past’s haunting melodies and the contemporary Urbana of NYC.”
