NEWS: Litha hunger for Tartarus Records?

Tartarus Records have announced the signing Litha, the solo Black Metal project of Andrew Black, who you may recognise as the live bassist of both Mizmor and Hell as well as being a founding member of Sorceress. Together they will unveil his self-titled debut album on vinyl, cassette and all digital platforms on 17th November. Described as a cathartic project, the project is said to serve as an outlet through which to channel lifelong anxiety and depression as well as guilt caused by the dissonance between a desire for altruism and his disposition towards misanthropy. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp with “Hunger” the first burnt offering.

Andrew Black comments: “Litha represents a distinct departure from my ambient music. This project was born out of my need to vent the uglier and angrier emotions that have been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Ambient music has been a great way to express more melancholic emotions, but I needed a way to process my anger and pain, which I’ve historically hidden away from others. I felt like I couldn’t say everything I needed to in instrumental ambient music, so I decided I needed an additional outlet. Litha is that outlet and an effort to bring that ugliness to the surface to process it instead of continuing to hide it.”
