NEWS: Lacabra twist and turn into the nothing?

Seattle Blackened Death Metallers Lacabra have built their extreme reputation with recent shows alongside Goatwhore, Cavalera, Crypta and Skeletal Remains all leading up to their self-titled debut album. Mastered by Andy LaRocque (King Diamond) and animated by Maria Nicheva Wicklund, a music video for “Nothing” is now streaming .

The lyrics on “Nothing” were written by Didier Almounzi (Dragonforce, Razor of Occam), who played in Locistellar – the band that was the precursor to Lacabra. It is about what hard drugs really do to the psyche—how they twist reality, convincing the mind that living every day is the real burden, not the addiction itself.

Conceptually, vocalist Lance Neatherlin says “the video is about a white collar, working stiff, who grinds himself into a nub, working endless hours in the corporate world and goes completely off the rails in a drug-fueled frenzy. The video was created by Maria Nicheva Wicklund, who did the animation for the ‘Fractured’ video. She has a very unique style, knocks it out of the park every time we work with her, and goes way beyond our expectations being the perfectionist she is.”
