NEWS: Orbit Culture survive Death From Above?

Ever see the date on a forthcoming album release and wonder just how many singles are going to be extracted before it arrives? Century Media are making us wait  until the 3rd October for “Death Above Life” by Swedish Metal heads Orbit Culture but have given us a second single in the title track. Mixed and mastered by the legend that is Buster Odeholm (Humanity’s Last Breath, Reflections, Vildhjarta) at Odeholm Audio, it represents something new and fresh as vocalist Niklas Karlsson explains. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp

Vocalist Niklas Karlsson comments: “This record represents change, a new beginning. It brings up a lot of good and bad emotions but it’s a big change for the better. It feels like a rebirth. So much more than any metal being written today. Every one of us would rather listen to the ‘Inception’ soundtrack. It’s timeless. When I get stuck writing, those tools and inspiration are there, whether it’s cellos or pianos which adds texture. We write very easy riffs and structures, so turning to someone like Hans Zimmer leads us to taking the ending of a songs like ‘Inferna’ and making the final chorus bigger and more cinematic. We play metal. We have influences of Djent, influences of metalcore, melodic death metal. We stay true to ourselves, and I think people are hungry for that
