NEWS: Synthre announce “Heterodoxa”!
A couple of weeks after “Thy Gaze Is Fire” from Finnish Black Metal band Synthre began streaming the band have announced the track is in fact is the apotheotic climax of “Heterodoxa“, an EP with the 13th October on its toe tag. Crossing borders a s boundaries into explorative territory, the band bring together death, black and clean vocals accompanied by harsh, dissonant guitars, repetitive ritualistic riffs, and middle-eastern themes and instruments. Mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Mircea Purdea of the band Exhalus is at the helm for this one. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.
Thematically the record explores the synthesis of religious ideology at the beginning of the current era, when the once war-bound Assyrian empire became “Syriac”, and one of the cradles of Christianity. Drawing inspiration from this unlikely transformation, during which the old gods and demons of Sumeria and Mesopotamia started to walk alongside early Christianity, Gnosticism and other distinct yet interconnected belief systems.
