NEWS: Aittala escape from solitary confinement!

The prolific writing partnership of multi instrumentalist and vocalist Eric Aittala and drummer Gary “Zeus” Smith looks set to continue to bare fruit as genre blending outfit Aittala (pronounced “EYE-tah-la”) have a second EP of 2025 on the way. Having already given us “Machines“, which showcased a unique blend of Traditional Heavy, Doom, Progressive and Thrash Metal elements, “Ill-Gotten Gains” has been marked for a 21st November release via Exitus Stratagem Records. The EP cover features an updated rendering of the bands long standing mascot Frank, a cartoon pig head in a pentagram, which was first introduced with 2014’s “Effigy” album. Frank is the kind of character who’ll help you acquire “Ill-Gotten Gains” no questions asked, as long as you’ve got the cash.

While not a concept record, thematically “Ill-Gotten Gains” explores the darker side of the human psyche, from chaos and exploitation to the consequences of those actions and the search for redemption, offering a cathartic journey from which “Isolation” is the first single.
