NEWS: Amiensus collapse the mountain?

Named after North America’s highest peak, new composition “The Peak of Denali” marks the return of vocalist Chela Rhea Harper to Progressive Black Metal act Amiensus after a nine year leave of absence. It’s the bands third single of 2025, continuing a prolific streak that saw them unveil not one but two albums last year via M-Theory Audio.

Guitarist and vocalist James Benson comments:  “Following in the creative spirit of ‘Fields of Emerald Fire,’ this song was born out of a deliberate challenge: to write and shape it within the span of a single hour. ’The Peak of Denali’ reflects on the duality of ascent, through both the physical evolution of mankind and the deeper journey of spiritual enlightenment, while also contemplating humanity’s troubling descent in its relationship to its lifeblood. The title itself was chosen long before a single lyric had been written, serving as the guide that shaped the song’s direction. From that foundation, we built this song upon the belief that humanity is inseparably tied to the Earth, connected through both spiritual resonance and material existence.

He continues: “In the following months, we will release our first cover since 2014’s cover of Forefather’s ‘Wolfhead’s Tree,’ and the final single tied to ‘Fields…’ and ‘…Denali.’ We hope to finish production and mixing for our next project in 2026. In the meantime, hold onto hope, stay mindful, and walk in solidarity with your communities.”
