NEWS: Mascharat warn of “Ars Aurea Mortis”!

Milanese Black Metal outfit Mascharat are preparing for the release of their sophomore album “Ars Aurea Mortis” via Remparts Productions on 31st January 2026 on compact disk and
The release date is scheduled for the 31st of January 2026, both on compact disc and in digital formats. As with its predecessor, the album is a concept piece entirely focused on the theme of the transformation of matter according to the principles of alchemy and Western esotericism. The process that leads to the creation of gold unfolds across the eight tracks of the album and is represented through a dialogue with a Mask (an emblematic and omnipresent figure in our aesthetic) that sets the pace of the operation while also determining its outcome. Each track refers to a phase of the alchemical opus and includes some verses recorded using a famous mask of the Venetian carnival, the Bauta, also known as the larva (“ghost”). The first glimpse of that is “Rubedo“…

For those unfamiliar, the bands debut self titled album was released by Séance Records in 2017, conceived as an esoteric narration in Black Metal and inspired by the masks and the traditions of carnival. Each track is arranged as a kind of symbolic narrative, where the masks of carnival are the guides to a process of initiation and transformation and that can be found over at bandcamp alongside their 2014 demo.
