NEWS: Extinction A.D. don’t mince their words!

After last month saw new single “Dead Men Running” alongside the announcement of their signing with M-Theory Audio it’s no surprise that Long Island New Yorkers Extinction A.D. are wasting no time in hitting us again, this time with  “Thaw”. Blending ‘80s Thrash, ‘90s Extreme Metal and New York Hardcore in their traditional signature style, this time out they’ve got a message but can you guess what it is?

Vocalist guitarist Rick Jimenez: “It’s very easy to assume writing an anti-authoritarian song is passé in heavy music in 2026, but as a band that exists in both the metal world and the hardcore world, it’s surprisingly polarizing. The ‘defenders of the status quo’ all the way to the ‘regressive back-to-the-past’ thinking infiltrating our scenes is purely bizarre to me. This song is an unabashed condemnation of the abuse of federal power in the ICE organization and the denial of celebrating racist and fascist ideals under the guise of supporting politicians. The video for ‘Thaw’ was to bring like-minded people into our world and be just as, if not more, important than the four members of the band. It’s not just our song, it’s everyone’s song.”
