5 Albums I Want To Be Buried With #29: Below The Stones!
A Metalcore band hailing from Coventry, Below The Stones have been in love with heavy tones since they could crawl. Following last years singles “Radio Silence” and “Aly” the five piece unleashed album “At Hydrus Live” in December and are currently writing new material. That being said, on 31st May 2026, they will be joining the likes of Dead Flesh, Insurgent and Era’s End at Dead Wax Digbeth for New Rage Revolution Festival. Before all of that however, it’s time we published this incarnation of “5 Albums I Want To Be Buried With” they did with us because it’s been lost in the Matrix!
The premise is simple: “Back in ancient Egypt they believed that the items their Kings were buried with would travel with them into the afterlife and so part of the burial ritual would see the mummified bodies surrounded by chariots, gold and more. Fast forward to now. If there were five albums that you’d want buried in the coffin with you to take to the afterlife, what would you choose?”
1. “I let it in and it took everything” by Loathe
“An Insane album, so good that loathe have been able to tour playing it for 5 years without releasing new music, start to finish it is absolutely perfect every second is euphoric. Loathe are a huge inspiration for our newer music and we have a very loose connection to them“
2. “Algorythm” – Beyond Creation
“It might not sound it in our modern music but we lend inspiration from Beyond Creation, Euan and Tom (rhythm guitar and bass guitar in order of mention) are huge fans. Algorythm is one of the greats, it’s the best of Beyond creations 3 albums in our opinion an album worth taking to the afterlife.”
3. “The Dark Pool” by Thornhill
“Another huge inspiration for our new music. Knowing about this album as it came out was amazing because Thornhill have grown so much because of it. Every song is great even the instrumental tracks, they perfectly end the previous songs and lead into the songs after them.“
4. “Ants from up there” – Black Country New Road
“A great album, a mix of Chamber pop, rock and indie played to perfection by the bands members. Lots of ear worms within the songs that you will not be able to forget easily.”
5. “The Human Condition” – Jon Bellion
“To round off, an album full of creative melodies, deeper meanings and versatile sounds. The culmination of the musical journey that Jon has been on since releasing his debut.”
“At Hydras Live” by Below The Stones is out 11th December 2025 and is available over at Spotify
