Rabidfest 2025: Breaking Down The Bands #11: Liquid Dogs!

Last week we mentioned how simply amazing it was that Rabidfest had a giant poster on the billboard at Bloodstock Open Air Festival this summer for the second year running but what we didn’t mention what that our editor got a fair few compliments on his Raging Speedhorn t-shirt. It seems there are plenty of fans out there who remember the Corby massive destroying the Sophie Lancaster stage in 2021 fondly, so hopefully they’ll be drawn to Rabidfest with the band headlining the Saturday night! Oxfords biggest Metal Weekender will take place at The Bullingdon on 1st and 2nd November with twenty bands taking to the Devolution Magazine sponsored main stage… but you already knew that, right?!

The Rabidfest team are so damn cool that they have announced a warm up show! Subtitled Sheri’s Birthday Black Mass, the event will see four bands on stage celebrating the birthday of Rabidfest Director and iconic scene queen Sheri Bicheno. As with the main event, all proceeds will be going to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation!

You’ve read this weeks Rabidfest news reel so now it’s time for the main event… and as it happens we’ve actually had the pleasure of witnessing a live performance from Liquid Dogs once already this year. That was in the intimate setting of The Castle Tap in Reading where the band offered up a fine selection of tunes from their 2023 self titled EP and like the 1999 South Park movie, all of those tunes were bigger, longer and uncut. The band have a signature sound with dual vocals so you get grunge style clean lead vocals backed by some harsh uncleans, both of which are complimented by pounding rhythms and slick groove laden funk orientated riffs with distinctive Alice In Chains vibes. There are of course moments of melody as well as breakdown style parts in their tunes, all of which should help you breathe more easily. Oxford residents may also be familiar with the band because they entered the Metal 2 The Masses competition for a chance to play the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock, reaching the quarter final stage.

We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Moshville Times, Moshville Radio, Metalplanetmusic, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!

Rabidfest will take place at The Bullingdon in Oxford over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd November 2025:
