Riff Police! Pull Over! #6 Testament Vs Lamb Of God!

Thrash legends Testament released “New World Order” way back in 1988 and one of the songs that remains a mainstay in the bands live set is the classic “Into The Pit”. The album itself was on Revolver Magazine’s “14 Thrash Albums You Need To Own” list in 2014.

Fast forward to 2004 and Richmond, Virginia’s Lamb Of God release their fourth album “Ashes Of The Wake” via Epic Records. The title track features a guest guitar solo from Testament’s own Alex Skolnick, but album opener “Laid to Rest” sounds… familiar… wait. What?! How did the aforementioned Revolver Magazine award Lamb Of God a coveted “Best Music Video” award for “Laid to Rest” in 2005 without spotting the similarities?!
