Vs. Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins? FIGHT! Snow Patrol?!

In an age where the Fearless Records series Punk Goes Pop is as much a gateway for younger music fans to get into Metal as it is hilarious good fun, it’s time we put up a pair of covers of a pop song in the ring. It might be a song originally by Snow Patrol but it’s probably equally as famous for the version done by Leona Lewis. “Run” appeared on the 2004 album “Final Straw” from the British Indie Alternative band, a record about failing relationships and break-ups inspired by the personal experiences of frontman Gary Lightbody.

In the Red corner, we have returning Nu-Metallers Cold who let us have their version of the song in the build up to new album “Things We Can’t Stop” which popped on 13th September. It’s been 8 years since their last album and new members Ethan York and Jonny Nova replacing Terry Balsamo and Sam McCandless it leaves frontman Scooter Ward the last man standing. In the blue corner we have Berlin Germany Symphonic Metal band The Path Of Dark Salvation aka Mathias Mantek doing a version with seemingly Johnny Cash inspired vocals. Who wins? You decide!
