Vs Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins?! FIGHT! Everlong!
The success of the one time Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as the frontman and guitarist of Foo Fighters seemed unthinkable back in 1994 but from then until now, he’s proved himself to be an inspiration millions in that capacity in his own right. There’s no doubt that him having been in Nirvana turned people’s heads to the band but the music speaks for itself and that is something that no one can deny. So for the second time in the history of this head to head battle we’re returning to “Everlong“, having allowed Evergreen Terrace and The Color Morale to draw throwing knives at dawn previously and not without good reason.
In the Red Corner we have the version as recorded by Voices Of Ruin for their third studio record “Path To Immortality“, reworked into an unexpected Melodic Death Metal masterpiece, the surprise end to a ripper of an album. In the Blue Corner we have Energy who over the past 16 years have made a career out of somber, melancholy melodies and introspective lyrics with infectious pop punk hooks, giving them the title of being Boston Massachusetts most unique band. Their version was an out take from their debut EP “Punch The Clock” from back in 2006. Who wins? You decide!
