Throwback: “Rise & Oppose” by Diecast!

Whether Diecast are still active as a band remains in question, but there is video footage of the Boston Massachusetts Metalcore quintet recording back in 2016. Their last album was 2006’s “Internal Revolution” which sold over 80,000 copies via label Century Media. Not bad for a band who made their name with their sophomore album “Day Of Reckoning“, which allowed them to tour with As I Lay Dying, Dying Fetus and Napalm Death. They are huge Slayer fans and so landing the opening slot for the 2002 “God Hates Us All” tour was a major coup. But it’s their third studio album that is the focus for today’s offering. “Tearing Down Your Blue Skies” appeared in 2004, their first with vocalist Paul Stoddard, saw them spend six weeks recording with producer Paul Trust, who had worked with them on “Day Of Reckoning“. They were lucky enough to get an excerpt of single “Rise and Oppose” in a Volkswagen commercial but hats off to directer Kevin Leonard who helped them create a hilarious music video for the track.
