The Black Map #137: Scordatura from Glasgow!
Travelling from Manchester to Glasgow to pay homage to the violent Death Metal beast that is Scordatura for this weeks entry in our black book is very much the pilgrimage from hell. Waging their war on the masses for the past fifteen years with a trio of albums in 2020’s “Mass Failure” (which tells the story of the downfall of humanity after the aftermath of a deadly virus…), 2017’s “Self-Created Abyss” (which includes the bands highest streamed single “Servants of Entrapment”) and 2013’s “Torment of the Weak” paying homage to their heroes in Cannibal Corpse, Cryptopsy and Suffocation, not to mention and incredible six EPs. The quartet of vocalist Daryl Boyce, bassist Derek Wright, guitarist Owen McKendrick and drummer Tam Moran have bulldozed their way across Europe, playing shows in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Holland as well as festivals including Berlin Deathfest in Germany and Bloodstock here in the UK. If that wasn’t enough, they’ve even managed to head over to the US and play shows in Long Beach, Denver and Salt Lake City, while sharing a stage with Nile was a career high point. Horns up, we salute you.
