The Black Map #143: Utilitarian from Sheffield!

Sheffield Shredders Utilitarian weren’t the only ones to have a spleen to vent in 2020 but they certainly put their rage to good use with not one but two records released in the year of the Great Plague. The first, entitled “Fight War, Not Wars. Destroy Power Not People” saw the trio of Jon Crowder (Vocals) Jon Addams (Bass) and Amara Wears (Guitar and Drums) bring Hardcore laced with Extreme Metal that you should expect from a band who named themselves after a Napalm Death record. That was May and in November, just six months on, they were back with “Stay Angry“, an EP with two new songs and a trio of covers to keep us warm over the winter months, as Crowder explained “Well, we’re still brimming with ideas on things to write about. We’re in that beautiful phase of early passion with a project, where it’s a family and it’s a cause and our cups are running over with ideas. Also, take a look at the world around you, there’s no shortage of things to get mad about“. We can’t wait to see what is next in store for this trio.
