The Black Map #161: Wounded Not Dead from London!
After last weeks exploits with Unfathomable Ruination in London, we’re staying in the capital city for another Skull Crusher Coffee sponsored look at the UK Metal Underground scene and moving from Brutal Technical Death Metal to something more gentle and calming to help those hangovers. We jest. There is nothing calm, peaceful or serene about Progressive Death Metal trio Wounded Not Dead, a Frankenstein’s Monster comprised of Thiago Carvalho, Adriano Ferraro and Rimon Jaoude, with each one having a wealth of experience in the old school extreme metal underground scene in London. Clocking up over 300 shows with bands like Inner Rage, Nebukadnezza, Eye Of Solitude, Inebrious Incarnate and Wacko, that experience lead to their critically acclaimed debut album in 2017’s “The Battles Of Horus Of Edfu” which was three years crafting. Recorded, Mixed and Mastered by Wynter Prior at Sphynx Studios their sophomore effort is within touching distance; a pair of brutal singles putting a wolf amongst the sheep in “The Obstacle is the Way” and “Register of Embodiments“; having inked a deal with LA Riot Survivor Records for the now completed “The Alchemist“, it should not be long before their path to Riff City takes them to the nirvana that is Maryland Deathfest.
