A lot of bands make around three albums and then disappear into the night with few having the longevity and the love of what they do to be able to sustain a career out of Metal over the longer duration. Swedish Melodic Death Metallers Soilwork are one of those scene mainstays, an ever present since 1995 who have trodden the boards and tested the water with regularity. The 20th Anniversary of their third album and first with Nuclear Blast in “A Predators Portrait” is worthy of celebration with Björn “Speed” Strid adding clean vocals to his options for the first time. Recorded at the same studio and at the same time as Opeth recorded “Blackwater Park“, it’s a miracle that they managed to scrape their jaws off the floor for long enough to get it done! So here’s opening cut “Bastard Chain” a regular in the bands live set to bring some sweet relief to another Monday morning.
