The Black Map #183: Bleed Again from Brighton!
In a change from the scheduled transmission this weeks entry in our Black Book of the UK Underground Metal scene we call “The Black Map” is all about Brighton Metalcore outfit Bleed Again. In just 5 days time the band will be dropping their sophomore album “Resurgence“, four years after their debut album “Momentum” went Global via Sliptrick Records but the roots of the band run far deeper than people realise. The South Coast Metalcore act formed at the end of the 2000’s but it wasn’t until 2015 that they began to gain serious attention. Sharing stages with the likes of Soil, Darkest Hour and King 810 as they reigned supreme in Europe alongside festival appearances at Amplified and Mammothfest have raised the bands profile while praise from publications like Terrorizer Magazine and Metal Hammer added fuel to the fire.
2019 then saw EP “Transition” land with more lightening bolt riffage, Hatebreed inspired breakdowns and groove for days. A stand alone single in “Survive” gained much attention with heavy rotation on Kerrang! Radio in 2020, setting the scene for “Resurgence” to be one of the more highly anticipated records of 2021. Having solidified their line up with vocalist James Dawson, guitarists Simon Williams and Chris Pratt as well as a rhythm section of Jordan Birchall on drums and Sam Jones on bass and second vocals, judging by crushing singles “Victim” and “Cursed” alone, the potential could well be fulfilled…
