Vs. Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins?! FIGHT! Propaganda.

It doesn’t seem like anything approaching the 30 years it has been since “Chaos A.D.” from Sepultura landed in 1993 via Roadrunner Records but as the cliché goes, time waits for no man. A stylistic departure from their earlier Death Thrash oriented sound to incorporate more Groove, not only is it a critically acclaimed record but one that has seem a plethora of bands including Machine Head, Trivium and Hatebreed to name but a few pay tribute to in the form of covers of tracks from the record. An album that is full of moments of anarchy in drop D tuning with songs that go against those who seek to oppress and censor it was of all places recorded at Rockfield Studios in South Wales.

So to our head to head. In the blood Red Corner we have San Paulo Brazil Hardcore crew and friends of Thiago Monstrinho Sujera. Known for their commentary on the dark side of the streets with influences varying from Thrash to Rap they’ve been spilling blood in the mud with a run of five single releases since the start of 2021, the most successful of which has been “Coisa Ruim“. In the Blue Corner we have Orange Country Metalcore outfit Throwdown who re-released their version of the Sepultura classic on their Pit Viper Records release “Take Cover“. Will they return? Will the villages burn? Is “Forever” one of the best Metallic Hardcore cuts around? Who wins? You decide!
