The Black Map #201: King Abyss from Uttoxeter!

After our trip from Manchester and Footprints In The Custard to Devon and Kill All The Gentlemen, this week’s entry in The Black Map, our weekly look at one of the lessee lights of heaven from the United Kingdom Underground Metal scene finds us in Uttoxeter. For those not great at Geography [and as we had to look it up ourselves! ~ Ed] that’s in Staffordshire in the Midlands. That’s the home of Aggressive Thrash Metal quintet King Abyss who made their live debut in 2016 with Bury The Traitor and haven’t looked back since. A pair of well received EPs in 2017’s “Reborn” and 2018’s “…The Destroyer Of Worlds” have seen them share stages with Tech-Fest favourites The Cartographer as well as American Deathcore titans The Last Ten Seconds Of Life while joining Ingested at the Unearthed Music Christmas Party to close 2021 in style. Vocalist Dom Bould loves dungarees while in keeping with Thrash Metal traditions the run on themes of paranoia, corruption, injustice, murder, isolation, alienation but be warned… they’re a band of big hair, so if you’re a person with a shaven head looking to join their ranks should a position become open, it will count against you! Here’s their latest single “Weapons of Mass Delusion” so you can check them out for yourselves…
