NEWS: Observist search for Human life in the wreckage?
After a first year that saw them make a serious impact with debut EP, “From The Ashes”, Melbourne Metal collective Observist are back with another offering in the form of “Human”, one which brings to the Kings table both DJent and the low-tuned discordance of Thall. Produced by Kye Blomeley (In Vanity, Nicolas Cage Fighter, Anticline) and mastered by Swedish genre master Buster Odeholm (Humanity’s Last Breath, Vildhjarta, Thrown), the track is accompanied by an illustrated music video directed by Markus Sharpe and Jack Fontes that brings the track’s dark and dissonant themes to life…
Vocalist Chris Conroy explains, “The song it’s about being human, reflecting on yourself and seeing the kind of person you were; even if you hated it. It’s okay to have flaws; it’s okay to still be in a place of seeking self-acceptance; it’s okay to constantly ask for help; nobodies perfect; we’re only human. The sonic goal of this song was for it to smack you in the face from the get-go while having a smooth flow with lots of groove and ever-flowing riffs.”
