The Black Map #214: Chaos Sequence from Bristol!
Two Hundred and Fourteen. That’s how many of the lesser lights of heaven in the UK Metal Underground scene we’ve put a spotlight brighter than a solar flare on with our weekly feature “The Black Map“. The numbers will only keep getting higher because the number of bands coming and going from the scene is like the birth and death rate and that’s a beautiful thing. There will always be a million bands you’ve never heard off that may just float your boat so this is where we recommend you a few. After all, that’s what we’re here for…
So this fine sunny-ish day we take a trip to Bristol, one of the hotbeds of the scene with a wealth of venues, so you’re always guaranteed a night out every day of the week should you so desire. It’s there that we find Gloom Metal quartet Chaos Sequence, a band who follow in the footsteps of genre pioneers Loathe and God Complex while at the same time putting their own spin on the genre. If you haven’t already had the pleasure, we highly recommend their recently released EP “The Ties That Blind The Flesh And Mind“, one that has all the dark and sinister aggressive tendencies with all the downtuned riffs imaginable. Then you’ve got former Betraying The Martyrs and current Ten56 vocalist Aaron Matts join the onslaught with throat shredding rap screams running on unhinged themes in “Fault Index”…
