Throwback: “Trigger” from In Flames!
It may seem hard to believe but this past weekend marked the 20th Anniversary of the release of “Reroute to Remain” from Swedish Melodic Death Metal legends In Flames. Released via Nuclear Blast and produced by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Soilwork, Dimmu Borgir) it was seen as controversial at the time because it represents a major stylistic shift for In Flames music while introducing clean vocals and catchier choruses, perhaps seen by some as an abandonment of philosophy and an unnecessary chase to commercial success. Recorded in a house the band rented in Denmark, except for the drums which were recorded at Dug-Out studio, it was also the first to see the band depart from Studio Fredman and producer Fredrik Nordström. Single “Trigger” is our celebration of the albums risk, appearing on the now infamous Freddy Vs Jason soundtrack.
