The band comment: “Wrath is the ultimate sin, a burning rage that can lead to destruction and chaos. Its flames are fuelled by hatred, anger, and resentment, and it consumes everything it touches. It is the sin of vengeance, of taking matters into one’s own hands and seeking justice outside of the law. It is a sin that can take many forms, from a quick temper to full-blown violence.
Its lyrics tell the tragic story of a woman who was physically and emotionally abused by her father. She escaped her father’s grasp by marrying a man who promised her sanctuary. But instead of finding solace, she found herself trapped again in a cycle of manipulation and abuse. Tired of the endless suffering, she decides to take matters into her own hands, killing her tormentor.
The song Verdict is an ode to the sin of Wrath, a reminder of the power it carries and how easily it can consume us but it is also a tale of hope and redemption. The powerful orchestra and death metal riffs are a perfect representation of the emotion and serve to bring out the rage and intensity of the emotions of the protagonist. The woman in the song has committed a great sin, but her courage to stand up to her abuser and take control of her own life shows finally her strength. Despite the tragedy and destruction in the song, it is ultimately a story of courage and perseverance”
